Home automation, aka smart homes, is the next generation of homes, but it is becoming widespread very fast.  Why equip your home for home automation?  Easy.  It provides a more friendly interface to interact with your home.  Most people only control their home through their thermostat.  Now imagine if you could control that thermostat through a remote, or through any internet connected device.  But that’s only the beginning of home automation.  With it, you can control simple things such as lighting, fans, sprinklers, or complex systems such as home entertainment systems, security systems, alarms, and intercoms.

An amazing benefit to home automation is the ability to make your home greener.  Well built systems can be scheduled so that the home is not heated after you aren’t present, and begin heating before you get home.  Lights can be shut off automatically after certain periods of time.  If plans change you can always log into your home automation routing server and make changes manually.  The possibilities are limitless if there are enough components in the home automation system.
